Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor used in the treatment of stomach ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and other acidity-related disorders. It decreases the acid produced in the stomach and helps in promoting healing of ulcers.
Pantoprazole is rapidly absorbed from the gastro-intestinal tract and reaches its peak levels after 2 to 2.5 hours of oral administration.
Pantoprazole remains active in the body for up to 24 hours after the administration of the dose.
Interaction with alcohol is unknown. It is advisable to consult your doctor before consumption.
